Elaf received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Mineral in 2009. He has nine years of experience in the oil and gas industries, working for Saudi Aramco and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation as a Technical Engineer. While employed, Elaf earned a Master degree in Business of Administration from the Open Malaysian University. He started his doctoral studies at the University of Alberta under the supervision of Prof. Secanell. In 2018, Elaf joined the University of Delaware, and currently he is working under Prof. Roy’s supervision. He is developing numerical methods for the simulation of droplet and rivulet motions using an Eulerian/Lagrangian approach, with applications to fuel cells and cooling towers.
