Nonlinear Dynamics Software
This course involves extensive numerical simulation
of dynamical systems in order to produce time series (x, y, z vs. t), orbits
in phase space (xyz-phase portraits), Fourier spectrum, Poincaré
maps, etc. Several approach may be adopted:
use the fortran
available on this site which you will to modify accordingly for each applications.
use the dynamical software gnans, version 1.6.1,
installed on spencer. You will need
an account on spencer. Consult the documentation located in directory /usr/
use canned software such as Maple, Matlab.
Care must be taken not to use "macro" commands such as
in Maple which will invariably lead to very sloppy
results at best.
