As a mechanical engineering consultant Bill Fagerstrom emphasizes improved equipment reliability and product quality, frequently utilizing vibration analysis. From 1972-1991, Bill was a corporate consultant with the DuPont Company, where he chaired the mechanical standards committee, was active in the corporate predictive-preventive maintenance activities, and engaged in a variety of predictive and vibration training functions while diagnosing and correcting problems at plant sites. An author, as well as teacher and trainer in both industrial and academic environments, Bill is currently an instructor of "Manufacturing Processes & Systems," a course he developed for UDel-Mech. Engr. Through that course and through the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Bill works extensively with manufacturers, often helping them set-up corporate maintenance programs and providing necessary training.
